About Walty
Walty is a working goat with a big personality and an even bigger appetite for veggies. During his breaks from fire-prevention grazing on hillsides prone to wildfire, he relaxes into his role at his Kids Ranch home as official greeter and snack chaser.
Walty loves meeting new friends, being photographed from every angle, and sneaking up behind you to see if you are hiding his favorite carrots.
He is named after Walter Vail, the larger-than-life cattle baron who, in the early 1900s, operated a 90,000-acre cattle ranch from right here at Vail Headquarters.
